Sports Supplement Information - Weight Loss Pills

Wednesday, May 24th, 2006

I thought as I have a little time now I’d start to disclose the sports/nutritional supplements I’m using.

In this post I’d like to draw your attention to some Body For Life weight loss pills that I’m using right now.

Weight Loss Tablets

As you can see from the photo which I took a few weeks ago (seems strange to see my garden so sunny as it’s barely stopped raining for the last 4 or 5 days now and looks like the middle of winter outside - so miserable!) the tablets are called “Everlean”.

Of course, it’s hard to know how much effect (if any) they’re having but this is the way I look at it…

If there’s a chance they’ll help even a tiny bit then I’m going to try them.

And here’s how I’d suggest you look at it. Keep coming back to the site. Watch my progress (if any) and if it inspires you to get fit then give these babies a try.

They won’t hurt!

I’m taking two tablets twice a day, a short while before food or exercise. The theory (as I understand it) is that these tablets speed up your body’s ability to burn off calories and so by maxing out that element of your metabolism, exercise becomes more beneficial and calories in your meals are more quickly removed.

But I’m not a doctor, so I might be wrong ;-)

Interestingly unlike the Betalean tablets that I used to use (also from EAS) these new Everlean tablets can be used for 12 weeks consistently. The others you had to take a break from occasionally.

So they should support me throughout the whole of the 12-week program.

Which is nice.

OK that’s all for now.

More nutritional / [tag]sports supplement[/tag] information coming soon.

Day 9 - Another Run Completed

    Wednesday, May 24th, 2006

I’ve just been out for another good run. I could see the difference this week - I got less tired and felt much better afterwards.

I’ve also just been prodding my stomach whilst recovering from my jog and I can definately feel some abs under all that fat! I know they’re there… Just wonder when they’ll start appearing. Come on [tag]weight loss[/tag]!

Also looking at myself in my full-length mirror this morning after my jog (I tore my t-shirt off when I got in I was so hot!) I do look a little slimmer still. Looking forward to the weekly update this week. Looks like it could be a good one.

Even one of the girls at work poked me in the ribs yesterday and commented “You’re [tag]losing weight[/tag]!” It’s a nice thing to be told, and only 9 days into the challange :-)

(By the way I just scanned through the blog for the last week or so just now - I do like these smiley faces don’t I?!) ;-) - Oops, there we go again!

I’m going to be adding the weekly update on Saturday night this week if everything goes according to plan.

If I carry on with this jogging I should be able to start doing intensity levels soon. I know it’s less effective without the different intensity levels but I’m still so unfit I’d never cope with a 20 minute jog and differing intensity levels.

I saw another jogger this morning when I was out and she looked fantastic. Helps show what can be achieved with some dedication and motivation!

OK, just a short post right now as I have to get off to work.

Bought some crab meat yesterday to serve as a protein portion sometime over the next few days. I’m really looking forward to it. I love crab!

      Week 1 Update

      Monday, May 22nd, 2006

Well it’s time for our first weekly update!

7 days into the challange already and despite hurting my leg last week and so only going jogging once I still ate healthily and did my [tag]weights[/tag] without too many problems.

I love the “pumped” feeling after a [tag]workout[/tag]!

Of course, I also have a reasonably active lifestyle so that will also help burn some fat during the week too.

I’ve just finished my upper body workout for today and took some snaps, plus took some measurements.

      The results are rather interesting.

I seem to have gained some girth on my chest, biceps and thighs for a start though there is always a chance of some slight human error when it comes to the measuring.

On the other hand, I did work very hard on my upper body and indeed had a strange situation tonight where I started off with heavier weights than I’ve been using accidentally - I didn’t realise I’d started with heavier weights will later on in the workout! That’s got to be good if I didn’t notice!

Interestingly I don’t seem to have lost any girth in respect of my stomach or waist, and yet I seem to have lost weight.

And I have included photographs below from this week (first) then last week (second of each view) and the only difference I notice is a tiny difference to my “love handles” and most noticeably in the “side view” photograph. But as my measurement showed my stomach hadn’t decreased I’m a little lost at the reason.

Maybe I just had better posture this week? Or maybe I did lose some fat around my waist but measured my circumference wrongly?

I’ll let you make up your own mind on the subject.

I’m still feeling really good. I’m enjoying the challange at the moment, I’m not yet bored with the food, I’m keeping up with my [tag]exercise[/tag] (and enjoying it) and I found a discussion forum for Body For Lifers yesterday. I registered there and there are some amazing transfomations so I expect to introduce myself there for some added “drive”.

Many of the posters there (I spent an hour or so “lurking” and reading existing posts) said they often didn’t see any noticeable change till week 3-4 so that’ll help keep me going.

In the past the lack of results has led me to give up after 2-3 weeks but this time I will keep soldiering on. And the updated photos each week will also help show me changes.

Lastly, I’m shocked looking at these photographs how skinny my arms are in comparison to my belly! I look aweful! The sooner my belly goes in and arms come out the better.

      Summers coming!

      OK, the table of statistics:

Category This Week Last Week Change
      Weight (kg) 73.1 74.2  -1.1kg
      Weigh (Stone) 11st 7.25 11st 9.5 -2.25lb
      Stomach 37″  37″  No change
      Waist 35.5″  35.5  No change
      Chest 39.5″  39″ +0.5″
      Biceps 21.75″  12.5″  0.25″
      Thighs 22.75″  22.5″ 0.25″

      Now the photos:

This week on the left (or ontop, depending how they display), last week on the right (or below)…

      Week 2 Back View

As they say in the cartoons, “that’s all folks”. Off for a jog tomorrow…

        Food Glorious Food!

        Saturday, May 20th, 2006

One of the problems I found in the past was that I was highly motivated when I first started the challange, but soon that momentum started to drop.

And a major part of that was the boredom with my diet.

I got sick of eating dull meals, and feeling hungry all the time (even with six meals a day - they’re tiny).

Fortunately I’m pleased to see that EAS have just published a new book called “Eating For Life” so I shall be investing in that very soon to try and add as much variety as possible to my diet.

Variety really is the spice of life!

          A Public Thankyou To Jamie!

          Saturday, May 20th, 2006

Well I got my first comment a few days ago here at this blog, from a guy called Jamie.

In amongst Jamie’s comments he said “The challenge is hard, I’ve tried it myself a few years ago and only lasted a fortnight (but lost half a stone in this period).”

Wow Jamie! Half a stone in 2 weeks! That’s amazing!

I’d like to thank you for your constructive comments and your own fantastic story.

I hope you get going again soon - with results like your you’ll look like Bill Philips by the end of the 12 weeks :-)

Please keep coming back. And to the other 25 or so visitors that arrive every day at the moment, please post some positive, constructive comments if you have a moment.

          It’ll help keep me going!

Here’s the link to Jamie’s full post:

Oh, and I checked my weight late last night (I didn’t get home from work till 8.30pm!) and… well… I’m not going to reveal the results until the Weekly Update which is going to be on Monday/Tuesday but I’ll tell you this… it’s good news…

Stay tuned to find out how good… ;-)
