Next Challenge Getting Very Close…

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

Well the end of the month is getting close.

…As is the next stage of my development and my next challenge.

So what am I going to be doing?

Well I still need to lose some weight but I’m also not happy with how little muscle I put on during the Body For Life challenge so I am currently reading through two books to get a new perspective.

So far they are very interesting indeed and I shall be reporting back to you very soon on what I am going to be doing and what my next challenge (a six pack my Xmas) will involve.

I’m also going to invest in some new weights I am getting so used to lifting the heaviest weights I have, investing in some more meal replacement drinks and a body fat caliper.

The new challenge starts at the beginning of November.

Until then I’m still in the research and preparation stage.

If you want to check out what I’m reading now (highly recommended) then check out these links -> Get Shredded and Burn The Fat.

    Goal Setting

    Sunday, October 15th, 2006

One of the key secrets I’ve found to staying motivated is to set goals. Not just “I want to lose weight” but *specific* goals. I want to lose x lbs by x date.

Which is half the reason I created this website.

Writing down your goals helps to “imbed” them in your mind. To focus you on them.

Well now I’ve finished the Body For Life challenge it’s time for some new goals. Goals that will take me up until Christmas.

Because winter is coming and I’m likely to want to stay indoors more. I won’t be out cycling and walking very often. I’ll want warm food. I’ll want to avoid the rain.

And as my body will be well wrapped up in jumpers and coats it’ll be easy to put on some weight without anyone really noticing.

Furthermore though, I want to start the new year - 2007 - with a great physique that I feel confident and comfortable with.

So here are my goals - to be achieved by Christmas.

Of course I want to bulk up my chest and arms (though I’m still not particularly bothered about my legs) but the biggest factor is my six pack.

By Christmas I want a six pack. Not just any old six pack - but a fantastic wash-board stomach. And I’m willing to work for it.

Apparently in order to achieve this your % bodyfat needs to be under 10% so as soon as I get my fat measuring calipers I will be able to work out how much more fat I want to lsoe whilst putting on muscle.

The next post I make will reveal which program I am going to experiment with for the next 10 weeks taking me up to Christmas (where I’ll be able to eat and drink for a few days and not worry about my figure so much!).

The new challenge starts at the beginning of November…

      Calculating Body Fat Percentages

      Sunday, October 15th, 2006

Not so long ago I posted about the next experiment in my journey would focus more on fat loss (and measuring body fat) than weight loss (and measuring my weight) because the results are far more accurate.

Looks like someone read my mind - here’s a great article about fat loss vs. weight loss.

        How Embarrasing…

        Sunday, October 15th, 2006

My apoligies if you tried to visit this site in the last few days…

I was away for a week and my webhosting account expired and some idiot (me!) hadn’t set it to automatically renew so we had a couple of days of downtime.

We’re back up and running now though, and preparing for the next big push…
